Early Ed Center

Drop Off: 8:00 – 8:45 am 

  • Early Arrival from 8:00 - 8:25 am requires you to walk your child into the building during drop-off.
  • Drop-off window for walk-up and car line opens at 8:25 - 8:45 am.

Drop Off: 8:10 – 8:30 am

Before Care is available beginning at 7 am. No reservation is required. Students should enter Door 1 at the north parking lot.

For car line arrival, please pull to the end of the grass at the main entrance and follow the attendants' instructions.

Pick Up: 3:05 – 3:30 pm

For car line dismissal, please pull to the end of the grass at the main entrance and follow the attendants' instructions. You can also park in the north parking lot and walk up to the main entrance.

Fall Creek

Drop Off: 8:10 – 8:30 am

Before Care is available beginning at 7 am. No reservation is required. Students should enter the main entrance (Door 2) on Park Ave.

The main front doors are open during the arrival window of 8:10 - 8:30 am. You may utilize the drop-off lane located on the west side of the school on Park Avenue or walk your child into the building each morning. All vehicles should head north on Park Avenue from 22nd Street or 23rd Street. Right turns onto Park Avenue are not allowed when heading west on 23rd Street.

All car line students are dropped off at the West Curb. Upon arrival, please follow the directions of the staff member at the curb. To expedite the car line, please pull as far north as possible in the drop-off lane before having your child(ren) exit your vehicle. Parents should stay in vehicles and allow our staff members to open the car doors for students. We will have staff members at the front door to assist new students to their classrooms. 

Pick Up: 3:05 – 3:30 pm

East Curb (Alley) – Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd-grade students only. 

  • Enter the alley behind the school from 24th Street and head south to the designated pickup point. All cars should approach the alley from the west and make a right turn into the alley (heading south). Once your child is picked up, proceed south and exit the alley by turning left onto 23rd Street. No right turns onto 23rd Street are permitted.

West Curb (Park Ave) – 3rd through 5th-grade students and their siblings. 

  • Vehicles follow the same directions as arrival.

South Curb (Walk-Up) – Parents may park and walk up for dismissal by lining up at the South Curb door.

Drop Off: 7:45 – 8:15 am

  • Morning Movement from 7:45 - 8:00 am
  • Students are released to go to their lockers and homerooms at 8 am

Dismissal Process & Pikmykid

The dismissal process involves using the dismissal app, Pikmykid, and your school-provided dismissal cards. 

Pikmykid is a free app that allows us to make sure your child gets dismissed to the desired location and person at the end of the day. In the app, you can indicate if your child is attending an Oaks Plus after-school activity and assign trusted friends or relatives for pickup. When our families use the app to announce their arrival during dismissal, it also helps us streamline the car and walk-up lines to save time.

At the beginning of the year, you will receive a set of dismissal cards that will be used for pick-up. These cards work with the Pikmykid app by allowing our staff to confirm your arrival once you announce in the app. Dismissal cards can be used for pick-up without the app, but will involve ID verification to make sure that students are sent home with approved guardians.

Getting Started
  1. Download the PikmykidApp
    Download for iPhone | Download for Android 
    Turn Location Services on so that you are able to use the announce feature. This only works when you are close to the school during the dismissal window.
  2. Create an Account
    IMPORTANT:     Use your cell phone number and email where you receive Oaks communication. 
  3. Ensure Your Children Are on Your Account
    Your children should automatically be associated with your account. If they are not, please email pikmykid@theoaksacademy.org with your preferred cell phone number and email address so we can adjust your account appropriately. 
  4. Confirm Your Default Pickup Location
    We’ve selected a default pickup location (the place you plan to use for pickup most often) for your child, which you can see in the app. If this isn’t correct, please contact pikmykid@theoaksacademy.org so we can make adjustments.

    You can also make changes on days where you aren’t using your default location. Please know you will need to make all changes by 2:45 pm for the Early Ed Center and lower schools or 3:30 pm for middle school.
Assigning Pickup

Each day, you will schedule your child as a car rider line, to be picked up by another adult, to be a walker (if permission forms are on file), or to attend an after-school activity.

  • Your child will be assigned to a default pickup location. (Please email pikmykid@theoaksacademy.orgif your default location is not correct.)
  • On days you are not picking up at your default location or will have another person pick up, you can make changes in the app up to 15 minutes before dismissal on the day of the adjusted pickup.
Announcing Arrival

For car riders: Once you arrive at campus, you need to announce your arrival in the app. If you are not picking up a specific child that day, please toggle them “off” before you announce. Please have your dismissal card showing as well so that our staff can put your car in the correct order.

For walkers: If your child is a walker, you do not need to announce your arrival even though it is an option in the app. If they are assigned as a walker for the day, they will be automatically dismissed at the start of dismissal (3 pm at the lower schools and 3:40 pm at the middle school).

For after-school activities: If your child is signed up for an after-school activity (After Care, clubs, or athletics), their dismissal will operate as normal from their class to their activity. Picking up students at the end of an Oaks Plus activity will require you to announce your arrival in the app or show your dismissal card and ID for verification.
